I approach counseling with great confidence that hope is possible in every situation, no matter how mundane or complex. I aim to provide care that is grounded in the principles, promises, and commands of God given in the Bible. I also believe that wise counsel acknowledges the impact a person’s environment and body play in their inner life as well as their relationships.
I believe that “biblical” and “practical” are not mutually exclusive categories, but that, in fact, God has given us authoritative insight into the human experience in His Word, and has, by means of common grace, also allowed believers to learn from observation, research, and experience about how the ways common troubles often impact a person’s life and what strategies may be helpful.
As a counselor and a believer in Christ, I have been greatly influenced by the work of CCEF (The Christian Counseling & Educational Foundation).

As a biblical counselor, I do not diagnose mental illness nor provide the diagnostic codes needed for insurance claims to be made.

While I frequently work with women who are facing difficulty in their marriages, I do not offer marriage or pre-marriage counseling for couples.
On occasion I have included a husband in a wife’s counseling session if she agrees this would be helpful.
I also work with both a husband and a wife when a couple needs help with parenting.

I am not currently counseling children.
I work with teen girls struggling with a variety of issues. I aim to provide teens a relationship where they can share freely, while also partnering with involved parents to provide additional support and guidance.
In the case of girls under eighteen exhibiting life-dominating disordered eating or life-threatening self-harm, I request that she already be under the care of a physician before beginning the counseling process.
